Are you interested in collaborating on approaches to help alleviate or resolve conflicting ocean uses? We are too! MARCO has developed a new feature of the Mid-Atlantic Ocean Data Portal to help you navigate these challenges with the help of your community.
Groups are a new way to connect with a growing network of ocean stakeholders and collaborate around a common theme. The beta version of the Groups feature will be live later this month and we’re looking for a few pioneers to help us test it. You don’t need to be a mapping expert to start or join a test group. All we need is an idea for illustrating new or existing ocean uses and a couple of folks who are ready to collaborate.
Whether the topic is a personal passion or professional interest, any reason to map and collaborate is welcome. This may be a great opportunity for project teams to benefit from visualizing ideas, proposals, or plans. It could also be a valuable starting point for a research project, paper, or presentation.
Does this sound like you? Then send us an email with your name, theme/topic of interest, and whether you would like to be connected to other experts in your region or field. Already have a group in mind? Include the names and emails of those who will be collaborating with you in your email and we’ll add everyone at the same time.
The testing period for the Groups feature will occur in May and June and will include short tasks and surveys to help us revise and refine the tool.
