2021 Annual Report Published
The Mid-Atlantic Regional Council on the Ocean (MARCO) announces publication of its .
MARCO has advanced it’s work on the four original shared priorities (Climate Change, Marine Habits, Renewable Offshore Energy, and Water Quality) identified by the five Mid-Atlantic states and has made notable progress on several new priorities that it identified as emerging issues; Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) and Regional Blue Economy.
As the demand for ocean space increases in the years ahead MARCO will continue to work towards the goals outlined in its 2022-2024 Work Plan and to leverage existing and new Work Groups and partnerships to facilitate information sharing, identify and address data needs, and engage with stakeholders.
None of these accomplishments would be possible without funders. With grateful appreciation, MARCO would like to thank the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Virginia Coastal Zone Management Program and the New York State Department of State for their support.
